About Fiction

 A work of fiction is created in the imagination of its author.This is to say that it is not presented as fact,though it may be based on true situation.Fiction genre include the Novel,short story and Novella.The word fiction is from the Latin word Fiction,which means to make,fashion or mold.

   Functions of fiction.

Fiction for me creates an entertainment and It educate me also.It inspires,an have enough capabilities to sweep our emotions.It create insights into the lives of the characters,their manner and events related to them.Fictions can be expressed in a variety of formats,including writing,live performances,films and role-playing games.

Examples of fiction in literature.

It is written by one of the prominent writers in Africa.Author Chinua Achebe is a Nigerian writer.The fiction introduced us to a character named okonkwo,who though respected in umuofia tribe of the Igbo people lived in fear of becoming his father-a man known for his laziness and cowardice.From an early age,he built his home as a precocious wrestler and hard-working farmer.

 However,things changed at the arrival of the white missionaries whose arrival signalled the beginning of  the end for Igbo culture.
