The word genre can be seen as the categories of literary composition.The two main categories separating the different genres of literature are fiction and non-fiction.The word"genre" is often applied to such literary concepts as horror,fiction and fantasy to mention but a few.It is characterized by a specific form,style and content.   The sub-genre of literature one should be familiar with are Poetry,Drama and Prose.Each of which  is explained in more detail below. #poetry.is a literary work in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given by the use of distinctive style and rhythm.poetry is a derivative from a variant of the Greek term,poiesis which means "making".some scholars believe that the art of poetry may predate literacy.It is believed to be a man's oldest habit.  Example sentences .
